Style: Second Nature Broadoak Shaker Painted in Partridge Grey, Blanco Zeus Silestone Worktop
The Brief: The focus for this project was to maximise the worktop space in the kitchen, and therefore a large central island suited the brief perfectly. The island works perfectly as a food prep area but also offers lots of additional storage. The clients are keen cooks, so the range cooker was an essential element to the design.
The clients were looking for a traditional style kitchen with a contemporary twist, so the Broadoak shaker door, painted in an on trend pale grey was the perfect choice. The crisp white Blanco Zeus silestone tops create a modern feel to the space, and the juxtaposition with the traditional range cooker and Belfast sink with the contemporary handles and colour palette work brilliantly. It was important that the island didn’t dominate the space, so curved units were introduced to the ends of the island to soften it’s presence. The eye us now drawn down the island and the kitchen now connects with the snug area at the far end of the room.
