Style: Second Nature Broadoak Painted Ivory, Bon Accord Granite and Oak worktops
The Brief: This project involved doubling the ground floor of a bungalow and extending the once dated, small and dark kitchen. The clients’ vision for the kitchen was a bright and airy family room, with a central island for entertaining friends. Her favourite colour is purple so this is used as an accent colour on the glass splash-back and bar stools which creates a dramatic contrast with the painted ivory cabinetry. The painted shaker cabinetry makes the room feel welcoming and homely.
To add warmth to the scheme natural oak was mixed with the granite worktop on the island, this also created a defined seating area on the island, with the rest of the area to be used for food preparation. Brick effect white wall tiles were used to retain a classic feel to the kitchen, this was enhanced with the wine racks and plate racks, both traditional features. It was important that the room had key zones for cooking, washing and food prep/socialising, so the separate hob, sink area and island was the perfect solution.
I am absolutely overwhelmed by the kitchen !!!!!!
