Style: Mereway Futura Silk Graphite, Corian Abalone Worktop
The Brief: The clients decided that they were going to knock three existing rooms into one large kitchen, which would then be the focal point of their new home. The aim of the project was to create a large, contemporary space which was practically and aesthetically pleasing. The storage needed to be effective and the appliances integrated to create a minimalist look. Top on the list was a large island for entertaining and lots of worktop space.
This design is all about style… the sleek, clean lines of the Mereway Futura cabinetry look stunning and create an industrial edge, this has been further enhanced by the use of stainless steel plinths. The corian worktops add a sense of warmth, and the corian downturns on the island sides really add to the wow factor. The kitchen is full of effective storage solutions, such as a pull out towel rail, magic corner, internal drawers, pull out bin and le-mans mechanism. The ovens have been housed in midi towers which ensured that the appliances were at the best height for the client, also aesthetically the midi towers are softer than the full height towers. The towers act as a divide in the kitchen as they separate the main kitchen from the utility area, which is to the right of the ovens. The glass splash-back adds a sense of definition to the space and another texture, the soft teal colour compliments the grey perfectly.
Many thanks to you and the team you have all made having a new, an enjoyable and fun experience for us. We love the design and whole look of the kitchen, so a job really well done many thanks. Our kitchen was very central to the design of our new home. We wanted it to be contemporary but we needed to embrace the warehouse space the house offered. The Kitchen People came up with some amazing ideas to work with our steel and glass and we are thrilled with the result. They were extremely professional and made the whole experience a lot of fun.
