Style: English Rose Painted Ivory Wood Shaker, Silestone Crema Urban and Oak worktop
The Brief: The clients existing kitchen was dark and dated so the idea of knocking down an internal wall to create a large open plan kitchen and dining room suited perfectly. The main objective was to create a bright and airy room with a homely and welcoming feel. The clients chose the traditional painted shaker cabinetry and injected a contemporary twist by using modern handles and feature appliances, like the stylish black and stainless extractor fan. It was important to have occasional seating in the kitchen so the island was added to sit two people at, as well as provide extra storage and worktop space.
The use of the oak worktops create a sense of warmth within this kitchen and really compliment the oak flooring. The clients previous kitchen was very dull so the ivory coloured cabinetry was the ideal choice. The ivory is a good base tone which you can then add colour too, here the clients have added an accent colour through the use of the glass splash-back. The room is now bright and airy as an effect of the new ceiling spot lights and under cabinet LED task lighting. What a transformation!
